On a separate note, let me speak a little about Vermont and the lack of air conditioning. The locals tell me that people move to the Northeast to get away from the heat. This explains the manner in which houses are built, and the lack of central air. It is safe to say that most of the world does not have the AC that I grew to love in hot, humid Atlanta. However, these distant lands adjust their houses and lives in an effort to survive the unbearable heat that plagues the summer months (i.e. in Greece they do not place their windows facing east or west).
This past week has seen temperatures in the mid 90s each day. With high humidity. Perhaps the preparation anxiety I am having is in reality a form of heat exhaustion.
where abouts in Vermont are you? I'm going to grad school in VT after PC. I see you're from the South as well. I live in Bama. Kinda weird coincidence. I loved VT when I went for a school visit.
ReplyDeleteWell, I lived in Burlington now. Are you going to the language school in Middlebury? I hear its one of the best and may think about going here as well when my service is up.
ReplyDeleteI am from Atlanta. Strange coincidence, but I am glad I won't be the only one there with a southern accent!
I'm going to SIT in Brattleboro. Tiny little town and school. Used to be a PC volunteer training site when PC first started. I still have a little Southern accent but most of the time people don't think I was born and raised here.
ReplyDeleteHa, yea mine is unfortunately a bit strong. People in VT always ask me where I am from. I have been to Brattleboro a few times, it is a bit small, but still a nice place.
ReplyDeleteHow goes the pre-travel planning?
Feeling about like you. Every time I get one thing checked off, at least two more get added. I got three emails the other day with several attachments of more stuff to do. Feeling much more like crunch time now with about a month to go.
